Is Vistabella Golf a good golf course?
The course is the reason the resort exists, and it is a proper one. Vistabella Golf opened in 2009 and was designed by Manuel Piñero, the Spanish professional who partnered Severiano Ballesteros in Ryder Cup play.
It is a parkland layout of around 6,000 metres played over 18 holes, set among palms and pines with a feature lake. Fairways are broad and undulating, the greens are testing and there are more bunkers than you expect on a first visit.
The course originally opened with 11 holes, but has since been expanded to a full 18-hole layout. It plays to a par of 72.
Practice facilities are strong for a resort course: a floodlit range with 23 bays, putting and chipping areas, a bunker practice area and a golf academy with instruction for all ages. The clubhouse sits above the course, with a restaurant, bar and a terrace looking over the fairways, and there is a halfway hut on the round.
Where exactly is Vistabella Golf?
Vistabella sits inland in the flat, green country of the lower Segura valley, north-west of Torrevieja. It lies just off the CV-945, close to the village of Jacarilla and between San Miguel de Salinas and Los Montesinos.
Administratively it belongs to Orihuela, so your town hall, padrón and local taxes are Orihuela ones. Next door is the Embalse de la Pedrera, a large reservoir ringed by orange and lemon groves, with activity centres on its shores.
This is not a seafront address, and it does not pretend to be. What you get instead is space, quiet, views over open countryside and easy driving in every direction.
What is it like to live on Vistabella Golf resort?
Vistabella is a gated urbanisation with a manned security entrance, spread over roughly 40 hectares around the course. It has grown steadily since development began well over a decade ago, so it feels settled rather than half-finished.
There is a small commercial centre on site. Between it and the clubhouse you will find a supermarket, a pharmacy, a beauty salon and hairdresser, cash machines and a spread of bars and restaurants, including Indian, Chinese and Italian kitchens, a pizzeria and a steakhouse. In summer there is live music on the terraces and a play area for children.
Sport goes beyond golf: three floodlit padel courts and a well-used lawn bowls club sit next to the main club, which has been a social anchor for the resort's residents for years.
Be realistic about two things. First, it is quieter from November to March, when part of the population goes home. Second, you will want a car for weekly shopping, doctors and the beach, as public transport out here is thin.
Day-to-day errands are easy enough by road. The market towns of Almoradí and Orihuela city cover banks, weekly markets, larger supermarkets and hospitals, and Algorfa and La Finca Golf are barely ten minutes away.
How much does property cost in Vistabella Golf?
At the time of writing (September 2026), our own listings at Vistabella range from about €215,000 at the lower end to just under €490,000 at the top, with the middle of the market sitting close to €360,000.
- Villas: typically around €360,000, and most of the stock here is villas.
- Apartments: typically around €260,000, with fewer coming to market.
- Typical home: three bedrooms, around 96 m² built, on a plot with outdoor space.
Two patterns stand out. Roughly two thirds of what we sell here is new build or recently built, and more than eight in ten homes come with a pool, private or communal.
Budget for purchase costs on top of the price. Resale homes in the Valencian Community carry ITP transfer tax of 9% (11% on the portion above €1M from 1 June 2026), while new builds are 10% IVA plus 1.4% stamp duty (AJD).
How far is Vistabella Golf from the beach and the airport?
The nearest Costa Blanca beaches, towards Guardamar and Torrevieja, are roughly a 20 minute drive, depending on which stretch of sand you prefer. Many owners treat the beach as a morning outing rather than a walk.
For flights, Alicante-Elche (ALC) is about 35 km in a straight line, which is around 35 to 45 minutes by car on the motorway. Región de Murcia (RMU) at Corvera is a similar distance and usually around 40 to 50 minutes.
Golf variety is the other bonus of this location. La Finca is about five minutes away, La Marquesa around fifteen, and Villamartín, Las Ramblas, Campoamor and Las Colinas are all inside a half-hour drive.
Who buys at Vistabella Golf, and does it rent well?
Buyers here are mostly British and Northern European: Scandinavian, Belgian, Dutch and German, alongside a growing number of Polish owners. Some live here all year, others use the house for long winters and summer holidays.
It suits golfers, couples who want a detached house with a pool for the price of a coastal apartment, and families who value the gated entrance and quiet roads. It suits anyone wanting nightlife on the doorstep or a walk to the sea rather less.
For holiday letting, the course, the on-site restaurants and the cluster of nearby courses give you a clear market, especially with golf groups in spring and autumn and Northern European guests in winter. Pools and three bedrooms are what renters look for, and both are common here. Anything let short-term needs a Valencian tourist licence, so check the position on a specific property before you count on the income.

Frequently asked questions
Is Vistabella Golf gated and secure?
Yes. The resort is a private urbanisation with a manned security entrance, and many owners leave their homes empty for parts of the year without concern.
Are there community fees, and what do they cover?
Most properties here belong to a community that charges an annual or quarterly fee, typically covering communal pools, gardens, lighting and the security entrance. Fees vary a lot between phases and building types, so we always give you the exact figure for the property you are viewing.
Do I have to be a golf club member to buy here?
No. The course is open to the public and green fees and packages are sold to visitors, so you can play as much or as little as you like. Members and residents often take season or winter packs instead.
Is there a supermarket and pharmacy on the resort?
Yes. The commercial centre has a supermarket, a pharmacy, cash machines, a hairdresser and beauty salon, plus several bars and restaurants.
How quiet is it in winter?
Noticeably quieter than the coast. A good number of residents stay all year and the clubhouse runs events through the winter, but some bars keep shorter hours from November to March.
Can non-residents buy a home here?
Yes. Non-residents can buy freely in Spain; you will need a NIE number, a Spanish bank account and a lawyer, and we can point you to independent ones.
