Eduardo Dolon hopes for trains to Torrevieja, therefore the mayor has been in Madrid to meet the directors of Adif and Renfe. Earlier this year, a political party collected great support from 11.000 people to procede with the plans of a Torrevieja trainstation. The old trainstation was brought to an end back in 1964.

A trainstation will make Torrevieja to become a greater tourist destination, as well as it will be an improvement for the businesses in Torrevieja. The power of trains has been clear to everyone, after the new highspeed trains has started in Spain. Since the “AVE” (highspeed train) started between Valencia and Madrid, the airline companies has closed all traffic between these destinations. The AVE is set to come within short time in Alicante.
