The summer is officially over. Though today (end of October) the weather report claims we will reach 30 degrees.

Tapas Route in Torrevieja

Fall also means that the famous and very popular Tapas route again will open in Torrevieja. The tapas route was invented in Torrevieja. The concept has spread out all over Spain with huge success. The dates for entering the route for the restaurants are from the 13th – 28th October. Already now a large number of restaurants has presented their tapas.

The route will then open November 20th-23rd from 12.00 – 16.30 and 19.30 – 23.00 and November 27th-30th from 12.00 – 16.30 and 19.30 – 23.00. This is an excellent opportunity to try Spanish specialities from the many restaurants in Torrevieja.

Each restaurant offers 2 tapas. For 2€ you can try the “House Tapas” with a drink, while 2.5€ gives you “Gourmet tapas” with a drink.

Toll roads in Vega Baja over?

Driving on the motorway between Alicante and Cartagena will make you pay between 2.05 € or 4.10 € – twice, when passing Torrevieja. It has been decided to take down the toll roads in 2019, when the contract with the administrator of the roads ends. Though already now the local politicians are putting pressure on the province to take open up the motorway for free. The number of cars passing on N-332 in Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa is high, and increasing. In addition the commercial center, Zenia Boulevard, has lead to even more traffic.

Racing track in Villajoyosa?

Plans for an international racing track has been presented in Villajoyosa. The track is planned to be located between Villajoyosa and Finestrat (by Benidorm). The track is hoping to achieve races of all types and tests of new cars.

30 km/h in the center of Torrevieja

Over the last years Torrevieja has spent lots of money to renew the city. Torrevieja now has a lot to offer to the many tourists visiting the city every year, as well as for the inhabitants of Torrevieja. A few years ago Torrevieja changed the pavement in many streets to tiles, put up different streetlights and trees. Now a huge part of Torrevieja center will be 30 km/h zone. This is done to make it even more pleasant to walk around Torrevieja center.
