August sets new heat record

August sets new heat record. We posted a morning photo our our Facebook page the other day, with a little note about a sudden temperaturefall. We wrote about a very warm august, and a “fresh” start on September with comfortable temperatures.

Now the statistics for August have been revealed, and you have felt it was warm in August, you had a very good reason.

The Alicante province had an average temperature of 27.5 degrees in August. Torrevieja had an average temperature of 27.7 degrees. The average temperature in the Valencia Region in August is 26 degrees. The rainfall in August was furthermore 60% less than normal.

The definition of a “tropical night”, is when the temperature not goes below 20 degrees at any time. In Torrevieja we had 31 tropical nights in August….
