Positive figures for house prices in Alicante
What we at Mediter Real Estate for nearly 12 months have witnessed, can now be read in the statistics for housing prices. In the Alicante province, prices fell “only” 1.9% in 2011. On a national basis, prices fell 6.8%. We have with Mediter Real Estate seen attractive properties with good locations not have fallen in price in 2011, while some of them even had small increases.
Many buyers have high expectations when going to Spain. They do not want to buy a property, but steal a home. After seeing a selection of properties in the area, many clients get the impression that if you want a good home with a sensible position, one must pay for this.
This does not mean that housing is expensive. We see an average decrease in prices of approx. 40% since peaking in 2007. One can easily find in the area properties, which has fallen considerably in price in 2011. However, we see that many of the most popular homes have experienced smaller price increases.
None of us can say with certainty what the future will bring. However, we see that there are sold many properties in our area, while many vendors of resale properties also has hit a bottom for how far they will go down in price. It thus seems that prices have hit a bottom in the Alicante province.
