EU approves Paramount Theme Park grant

The European Commission has approved a Spanish state grant of 16.28 million euros towards the Paramount Theme Park project planned for Alhama in Murcia region. The grant was approved as the EC considers that it fulfills the requirements in terms of providing a major boost for regional development.

The good news comes at a time when the developer Premursa is still attempting to find investors willing to back the project. Securing investors would in turn make it much easier to approach banks, investment funds and hoteliers that may be prepared to become involved in the project if they see that it is well-backed.

The project needs a total investment of 206.6 million euros in estimates by the developer. The construction would involve 1,500 workers and after completion the theme park would directly employ 1,200 people and would provide a huge boost to Murcia region’s tourist industry, property market and economy as a whole.
