Fine wines from Jumilla

Located in the north of the Murcia Region, you find Jumilla.

The village with 20.000 inhabitants has become more and more famous for its production of wine in the area. The history of wine wine, took officially place back in 1961, as Jumilla became an origin for wine. The area where the wines are produced coveres six municipalities, is 42.000 hectares big. Of these 42.000 hectars with its 22.000 hectars the Jumilla wines are the absolute biggest area.

The most common grape from Jumilla is the Monastrell, which gives the wines a deep red color. Among the most known wine farms is “Casa de la Ermita”. Visiting the area should include a visit at this farm, where you will get a guided tour, and be told a lot about the production, history and of course being able to try the wines as well.
